California Business Litigation and Arbitration

Our Sacramento California business litigation practice emphasizes the areas where our business clients need the most support, including commercial contract disputes, problems with distributors, lenders, or partners, contests for corporate control, shareholder suits, employee suits, collections, leasing, real estate contracts, securities claims, and enforcement proceedings brought by a wide variety of government agencies and regulatory bodies.  In the past, we have successfully brought and defended a wide variety of such matters for our clients in federal and state court and before administrative agencies and panels of arbitrators.

We have defended companies and individuals accused of a wide variety of business torts, such as interference with economic advantage and business libel, and can sometimes resolve these claims upon motions based on the pleadings or motions for summary judgment, without the expense of trial.   When trial is necessary, we aim to win.  Vincent DiCarlo, who is an AV rated litigator, has tried a wide variety of civil and criminal cases to juries, judges, and arbitrators.  He has published extensively and taught other lawyers on the subjects of effective discovery, expert witnesses, trial techniques, and the law of evidence, and knows what it takes to try and win a case.

We are very mindful of the high cost of litigation in money, risk, and management resources.  We therefore strive to litigate efficiently as well as effectively, working closely with the client to offer options that may streamline or eliminate some motions and procedures that are sometimes done routinely by some other firms.  We believe that some common litigation practices are unnecessarily wasteful of the client's money and, accordingly, Mr. DiCarlo lectures businesses on the topic of how they can reduce their litigation expenses.
